Planning: Copyright letter

Introduction:

After finalising our song choice, we decided to write a copyright letter to the record company for legitimate reasons to ensure that no problems occur later on in the process that prevent us from continuing using the song that we have chosen. The creation of this letter will be used a source of evidence to prevent us from getting accused for using the song illegally.

Copyright Letter:

The letter I created involved me asking the record company for their permission to us the single, and I have ensured that I ask if they require us to make any changes to protect their company and/or artist. I also mention that the use of the son g will be only for educational reason for media coursework.

Below is a copy of the letter and the information I have included:

Email:

Below is the email that we sent to the record company. We are currently waiting for a response to ensure that we can continue using the song and create a music video to it.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, creating the copyright letter has been beneficial as it is important that the process we carry out is legitimate and effective, therefore, the letter will be used as a source of protection for me and my group members as we will be able to use it to prevent any problems.  However, if  we do not receive any response from the company then we will go ahead and use the song, as it suggests that there is no real problem with using the track.
